The International Police Academy – UNIPOL is pleased to announce the forthcoming Official Board of Directors Election, to be conducted in accordance with the highest standards of integrity, transparency, accountability, and institutional governance.
The election will be administered through a secure electronic voting system via the Academy's official email platform, ensuring a confidential, transparent, and reliable voting process for eligible members worldwide.
This election reflects the Academy's commitment to democratic governance, professional leadership, and international cooperation in advancing its global mission.

📬 Official Voting Process
Official electronic ballot forms will be distributed to all eligible members prior to the election, exclusively through the Academy's official email system, in strict accordance with the approved election procedures.

✅ Candidate Eligibility Requirements
To stand for election, candidates must:
· 🪪 Hold a valid membership with the International Police Academy – UNIPOL at the time of nomination and throughout the election period.
· 🎓 Demonstrate distinguished professional experience of at least 5 years in policing, military service, security, law enforcement, or related public service.
· 📄 Submit a complete nomination package comprising:
o A professional Curriculum Vitae (CV).
o A motivation letter outlining their vision and commitment to the Academy's mission.
o Two professional letters of recommendation from accredited sources.
o A signed declaration of no conflict of interest and acceptance of the election results.
· ⏳ Meet all submission deadlines as specified in the official Election Timetable (to be announced separately).
🗳️ Voter Eligibility (Electorate)
Every active Academy member in good standing, with membership dues current, and who has completed registration at least 30 days prior to the election date, shall be entitled to vote.

🧾 Electoral Administration and Oversight
The Academy shall establish an independent Electoral Commission, operating under the authority of the General Secretariat, with the following responsibilities:

· 📨 Distributing official ballots.
· 📊 Tabulating votes.
· ⚖️ Adjudicating any appeals or disputes.
· 📜 Certifying and announcing the final results.
📌 All decisions of the Electoral Commission shall be final and binding.
⚙️ Continuity of Academy Operations During the Election Period
The International Police Academy – UNIPOL confirms that all Academy operations, international programmes, institutional activities, and member services shall continue without interruption throughout the election period, until the official results are certified and the newly elected Board of Directors formally assumes office.
During this transitional period, the General Secretariat and the Executive Administration, under the authority of the Secretary General, shall continue to manage the Academy's day-to-day administrative and executive affairs, and shall exercise all necessary executive functions to ensure:
· ✅ Operational continuity.
· ✅ Institutional stability.
· ✅ Uninterrupted service to members and international partners.
⚠️ Important Notice
These temporary administrative arrangements do not amend, suspend, or override any provision of the Academy's Constitution, Internal Regulations, Bylaws, or governing policies, nor do they affect any legal powers or authorities established under the Academy's official governing documents.
Their sole purpose is to preserve institutional continuity until the election process has been completed and the newly elected Board of Directors officially assumes its responsibilities.
📅 The newly elected Board shall assume office within 7 working days of the official certification of results by the Electoral Commission.
