Dr.Uwe Wehrstedt is a distinguished professional with a multifaceted career that reflects a commitment to excellence in various domains. Born in 1957, he embarked on a remarkable journey that encompasses military service, media, and entrepreneurial ventures.
Military Journey:
In 1976, Uwe joined the former NVA, the East German Armed Forces, where he underwent rigorous training in reconnaissance and paratrooping. Rising through the ranks, he attained the esteemed position of Major and served as a platoon leader and subject teacher in tactics at the Military Academy of the NVA. His dedication to military education culminated in the award of a Doctorate in Military Science in 1988.
Transitioning to the German Armed Forces Bundeswehr in 1990, Uwe continued to excel, serving as a Captain and fulfilling roles as a press officer and commander of a light infantry company. He retired from the German Army as Captain in reserve.
Media and Publishing Prowess:
In 1992, Uwe took on a new challenge as the personal assistant to the CEO of the Mönch Publishing Group, gaining valuable insights into the world of media and publishing. By the end of 1993, he ventured into entrepreneurship as a media sales representative, representing prestigious entities such as IHS Jane’s.
Entrepreneurial Vision:
In 1999, Uwe founded EMW Exhibition & Media Wehrstedt GmbH, a company that has become synonymous with excellence in exhibition organization. Under his leadership, EMW organizes two prestigious trade fairs annually: the GPEC General Police Equipment Exhibition & Conference® and GPEC® digital, focusing on the digitalization of internal security. In 2010, he expanded his portfolio with the acquisition of pvt POLIZEI VERKEHR + TECHNIK, solidifying EMW's presence in the law enforcement and security sector.
Innovative Ventures:
Demonstrating a forward-looking approach, Uwe founded XR-AFZ GmbH in 2021, a VR/XR education & training facility, showcasing his commitment to cutting-edge education in emerging technologies.
Publications and Industry Influence:
As the owner and publisher of pvt POLIZEI VERKEHR + TECHNIK, Uwe has played a pivotal role in disseminating crucial knowledge within the law enforcement community, positioning EMW as a thought leader in the industry.
Membership and Collaborations:
Uwe is an active member of several national and international organizations, including his role as the Academy Director - Section Germany at the International Police Organization Academy (IPOA). His affiliations with esteemed organizations such as the International Police Association (IPA) and the Bundesverband für den Schutz Kritischer Infrastrukturen e. V. reflect his dedication to fostering collaboration and innovation in public safety.

His contributions have significantly advanced the fields of internal security, civil protection, and disaster relief.
"This ID card serves as proof of membership in the International Police Academy (IPA), an Intergovernmental Organization (IGO) with members working in government, police, and military sectors. Members of the IPA are entitled to certain privileges and immunities under international law, including but not limited to diplomatic privileges and immunities, as well as immunity from civil and criminal jurisdiction in the host country. This card should be honored by all officials in accordance with international law."
